“Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.” Proverbs 13:20 NIV
The Bible doesn’t say walk with the wise and you’ll become wise, walk with the fools and you’ll become a fool. It says walk with the fools and you’ll suffer. Wisdom is contagious, foolishness is not. What we get out of foolishness is suffering… regardless if we are fool or not.
It’s not a matter of “we won’t do what they’ll be doing” is a matter of we will be paying the price wether we do what they’re doing or not. Wisdom is contagious, foolishness just brings suffering.
Let us be selective with the people we hang out with, engage virtually, or give our attention to. A lot of our success or calamity depends on the people we chose to surround ourselves with.
