Our Attention

“Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.” Proverbs 4:25 NIV

There’s value in eliminating distractions and focusing on what really matters. Early this week one of my high school clients told me his brother (also in high school) was taking a break from social media. This action from his older brother from always feeling connected to focusing on the here and now (truly being connected) really made the younger brother think and ponder about his own sense of connectedness.

I can attest ever since deleting IG and facebook from my iPhone my phone use has been cut in half, from almost 5h of screen time to barely above 2h now. Again, there’s something freeing that happens once we cut off unnecessary distractions from our daily life.

The Bible today reminds us of the value of fixing our gaze straight. Let us take inventory and cut/pause/delete dead weight from what’s vying for our attention. Remember, we pay attention we give life to.

My name is Arturo and I am loved by God and in response to that I best serve others by adding VALUE to their lives. My goal is to enrich lives, relationships, and communities.
From an artistic standpoint I’m a visual communicator and via the use of photography I seek promote beauty, concepts, and messages. Spiritually speaking I've served as a chaplain at a addiction/recovery rehabilitation center, and before that as a youth pastor, missionary, and Young Life/Club Beyond staff for many years here in the USA and abroad.
On the mental health side I currently serve as a life coach, certified addiction recovery specialist, and marriage and family counselor.
