Meaning what We Say

“Like a maniac shooting flaming arrows of death is one who deceives their neighbor and says, “I was only joking!”” Proverbs 26:18-19 NIV

To say what we mean and mean what we say, that was a challenge I issue to a client about two weeks ago. Our session covered many things, however his biggest “take away” was to say what he means and mean what he says. There’s freedom in practicing this.

To go with the flow, to play along, or to not voice out our own opinion is dangerous. The Bible speaks of it as maniacal! To say things to later retract and pull a “I was joking” or a similar retort is not only inconsistent but flat our dangerous.

Let our words be few, but say what we mean and mean what we say today.
