“I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of Egypt. Open wide your mouth and I will fill it.” Psalms 81:10 NIV
Yesterday I was invited to share about the topic of “forgiveness” at a group of women struggling with homelessness. My main point was that God always forgives us, however many times we do not feel forgiven nor reap the benefits of that forgiveness. Why? Because we are holding on to grudges, resentments, and people occupying free rent in our minds.
This attitude makes us clench out fists, and in today’s Bible verse, tighten our mouths. God tells us here, I’m the giver and I stand ready… if only we open our doors, our hands, our mouths…
It is one thing to not have any gifts, but it is a whole other thing if the gift Giver is standing in front of us and we deliberately close our senses to Him. Let us open up to God and He will fill our lives.
